About

Kirk Is really dumb

Kirk Jones is a California Bay Area-based artist whose work fills the spectrum from powerful graphic design to experimental esoteric fine art inspired by the techniques and messages of masters like Andy Warhol, Robert Rauschenberg and Jean-Michel Basquiat. Despite receiving scholarship offers from Art Center and Otis Parsons, Kirk dove directly into the professional art and design world. He began creating imagery for the skate and surf industry in the early 1990s and quickly became one of the youngest Art Directors in the fashion industry, working over 35 years as an Art Director, photographer and writer. All the while creating and exhibiting art out of sheer instinct and a deep need for visual expression. His art currently integrates assemblage, monotype, and hand-painting, often reflecting personal or political themes, but sometimes simply aims to confuse, annoy, and entertain. He frequently incorporates vintage found imagery and unique physical mediums in his work and even explores Artificial Intelligence to ensure his art evolves, innovates and engages.
